US team arrives to assist in Siachen rescue operationRAWALPINDI: An eight-member team of US experts arrived on Sunday to provide technical assistance in the ongoing rescue operation on Siachen. According to ISPR, discussion will be held with the team to find out possibility and nature of assistance required to rescue 135 people buried under snow as a result of an avalanche in Gayari sector. Earlier, the US expressed its deep concern for those who had been hit by the disaster. In a condolence message, it said, “We offer our condolences for those who have lost their lives as a result of the avalanche. Our thoughts and prayers are with the soldiers and their families.” app
