Steps towards war will be resisted, Fazlur Rehman tells US Ambassador
ISLAMABAD: United States Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter Tuesday called on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Fazlur Rehman said that he told the US Ambassador that all steps towards peace would be welcomed, while steps towards war would be resisted
Commenting on Nato supplies, Fazl said that weapons were supplied for war not for peace.
According to a US Embassy statement, during the meeting Munter and Fazl agreed on improving relations between the two countries.
The statement further said that Ambassador Munter told Maulana Fazlur Rehman that Washington was ready to hold talks regarding Pakistan's new outlines on foreign policy.
