President approves Ali Baqir Najfi as LHC additional judgeISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday approved the appointment of Ali Baqir Najfi as additional judge of the Lahore High Court.
The summary in this regard stated that the Judicial Commission of Pakistan had forwarded the nomination of Ali Baqir Najfi along with others to the Parliamentary Committee on Judge’s Appointment in the superior courts.
The committee, during its meeting held on March 20, neither rejected nor confirmed the nomination of Ali Baqir Najfi. Therefore, in pursuance of Clause 12 of Article 175A, the name of Ali Baqir Najfi was confirmed, the summary said.
Under Clause 13 of Article 175A, the Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment in the superior courts, through its summary, requested the prime minister to advise the president to accord his approval to the said appointment.
Accordingly, acting upon the advice of the prime minister, the president accorded his approval to the appointment of Najfi as additional judge of the Lahore High Court. app
