IJC on the Supreme Court premises continues
ISLAMABAD: The three-day International Judicial Conference (IJC) continues for the second-day on the Supreme Court premises here, following yesterday’s inaugural session and address by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Geo News reported.
The judges and legal experts from nineteen countries participating in this conference also included from U.S., Britain, France, Australia, Turkey, South Africa, India and Afghanistan.
On the second day, eight working groups headed by different judges have been constituted for the deliberation over numerous subjects relating to the reforms of the justice and judicial system. Judiciary role in promoting patience and tolerance, good governance besides conflict over people’s interest and such other topics have been selected for discussions.
The recommendations made by this conference would be mulled over for their implementation in the national judicial policy making committee.
Tomorrow is the last day of the conference, when a handout would be issued in the light of the unanimous recommendations of all the groups and its approval besides Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry would be addressing the closing session.
