SC refuses to accepts Babar Awan’s apology

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has refused to accept Babar Awan’s apology before he is indicted in the contempt of court case.

On April 10, Senator Babar Awan’s attorney Barrister Ali Zafar had submitted a plea to the registrar of the Supreme Court tendering an unconditional apology.

The four page apology stated that whatever was said about the court in the press conference on December 1 was unintentional, requesting the apex court to end the proceedings of the contempt of court against him (Awan).

The apex court has adjourned the hearing of the contempt case against former law minister for his remarks in a press conference pertaining to the decision of the SC on Memo Commission till April 19.
