Lashkari Raisani quits Senate over Balochistan situation
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Balochistan Senator Lashkari Raisani on Tuesday resigned from his Senate membership in protest against the deteriorating situation in Balochistan. Raisani, who is brother of Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani, submitted his resignation in the Senate Secretariat. He called on Senate Chairman Nayyar Bukhari before taking this step. Raisani also announced that he was quitting the PPP. According to sources, he had differences with the PPP’s central leadership.The senator was unhappy that the government had not taken any steps to improve the worsening law and order situation in Balochistan, the sources said. Talking to the media, Raisani said the situation in Balochsitan had turned worst since the inception of the PPP-led coalition government. staff report
