PTI will resolve Balochistan issue: Arif Alvi
QUETTA: If Paksitan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) comes to power it will resolve the Balochistan issue and give the people of the province the right to own their resources, said PTI Central General Secretary Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday.
He expressed his strong resentment over the issue of bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch missing persons and target killings in the province. He was addressing a press conference at the Quetta Press Club on Wednesday.
Alvi said the stakeholders had boycotted the general elections in 2008 and hence the incumbent assembly in the province lacked true public mandate. “The government is not representative of the people,” he said. The PTI general secretary said Balochistan was passing through a critical situation as incidents of recovery of decomposed bodies of missing persons, target killings and kidnappings for ransom had become a routine matter.
He said PTI had always condemned such incidents at all forums, adding that the PTI leadership had the ability to steer the country out of all the crises. Responding to a question regarding PTI’s public meeting in Quetta on April 20, Alvi said arrangements were being given a final shape, adding that Imran Khan would arrive in Quetta on April 19 (today). staff report
