Trade with India: President hints at opening Head Sulemanki border

OKARA: President Asif Ali Zardari Friday hinted at opening up Head Sulemanki border for trade with India and added that he would talk to the prime minister in this regard, Geo News reported.

Addressing the party workers here, he said that when he ascended to the presidency, he had all the powers and had he wanted he could have overthrown the government, but instead he preferred transferring the powers to the prime minister, which elucidates the difference between the PPP and other parties.

He said that he knows all the powers rest with the ‘Baray Mian’, while ‘Chotay Mian has nothing in his hands.

Asif Ali Zardari said that politics was our life and our politics starts from Garhi Khudabakhsh and ends over there.

On this occasion, he led the prayers for the safe return of the soldiers buried at Gayari sector under Siachen avalanche.

President Asif Ali Zardari further said that withdrawal of army from Siachen could not be unilateral instead it has to be simultaneous withdrawal of forces by India and Pakistan.
