Shahbaz phones Gilani, expresses concern over load sheddingLAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday called Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and expressed concern over excessive load shedding. The Punjab CM also demanded that the premier implement recommendations of the Energy Conference. The conference was held in Lahore on April 9. Shahbaz expressed his concern that the people of Punjab had been facing acute difficulties due to long and unscheduled power outages, adding that industry had come to a standstill and the business community was facing losses worth millions of rupees daily. The CM said Punjab was unscrupulously being exploited, adding that the province’s agricultural and industrial sectors had been destroyed and tens of thousands of workers had lost their jobs. agencies
