Nadeem Afzal Chan elected PAC chairman

ISLAMABAD: PPP MNA Nadeem Afzal Chan has been elected chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) unopposed. The PAC met at the Parliament House on Wednesday and elected Chan as its new chairman. Chan had been elected PAC chief after the resignation of PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan from the same office. Religious Affairs Minister Syed Khursheed Shah said that it had been decided in the Charter of Democracy that the PAC chairman would be elected from opposition, adding, “The PPP government had given the office to opposition leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, but he resigned from the office due to certain reasons.” Shah said that the PPP had also written a letter to Nisar and sought his suggestions regarding new PAC chairman but he did not respond. inp
