Hajj dues increase by Rs 21,000 for economy, Rs 47,000 for green categoryISLAMABAD: The Religious Affairs Ministry on Thursday clarified that net increase in Hajj dues was Rs 21,000 and Rs 47,000 for economy and green categories respectively.
The news published by some dailies about Rs 100,000 increase in the dues was misleading, said a press release.
There are three categories of accommodation for Hajj 2012. Blue category within 900 metres without transport with a rental ceiling of 7,500 Saudi Riyals (SR); green category within 2,000 metres with transport with a rental ceiling of SR 5,000 per pilgrim; and white category beyond 2,000 metres with transport facility with a rental ceiling of SR 3,600.
The blue category has been introduced for the first time for those pilgrims who prefer to stay very close to Haram Sharif while white category is the most economic package for majority of the pilgrims.
The green category is arranged for the pilgrims opting to stay within 2,000 meters from Haram Sharif. The blue category is introduced for the first time and the cost for each pilgrim is SR 7,500.
The cost of accommodation is based on ceilings while rent will be charged on actual basis and the balance amount will be refunded to the pilgrims before their departure to Saudi Arabia. app
