Plea seeking privileges, protocol withdrawal from PM filed in LHC
LAHORE: A writ petition, seeking withdrawal of official privileges and protocol from the Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, was on Saturday filed in Lahore High Court.Advocate Rana Ilum-ud-Din Ghani filed petition citing PM Yusuf Raza Gilani and others as respondents.
He submitted respondent Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani was not more Prime Minister under the constitutional provisions since Supreme Court convicted him in contempt proceedings initiated in NRO non-implementation case.
He alleged yet respondent was holding the office of the PM and enjoying all official protocols and privileges for which he was no more entitled for. He further contended that any order passed by the respondent Gilani would be illegal and unconstitutional.
Petitioner prayed to order withdrawal of official privileges and protocols from respondent.
