IG Sindh denies presence of ‘no-go areas’ in Karachi
KARACHI: Inspector General Sindh Police Shahid Nadeem Baloch has denied the presence of ‘no-go areas’ in Karachi.
During a news conference, Baloch said some criminals had safe havens in certain areas of Karachi against whom operations were underway.
Earlier, during an operation in the Landhi area of the city, police arrested a target killer Hanif Chatta who is accused of murdering 50 people.
Police claim the accused was involved in several high profile murders including those of representatives of religious and political parties. He is also accused of involvement in killings of police personnel.
During the police operation, three repeaters, four Kalashnikovs and twelve TT pistols were also recovered.
