ANP respects Pakistan Army: Asfandyar
PESHAWAR: Chief of Awami National Party (ANP) Asfandyar Wali Khan has declared Haji Adeel's statement regarding Pakistan Army his personal opinion, saying that the party respects the military institution, Geo News reported.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, Asfandyar clarified the ANP’s position, saying that Haji Adeel’s comments, which he had given in a seminar in Islamabad on Wednesday, has nothing to do with the party policy.
The ANP chief said that his party respects army as it is a national institution. He directed the party workers to consider the ANP’s manifesto while issuing statements, otherwise the action would be taken under party code of conduct.
Haji Adeel said few days ago that the army should protect territorial boundaries instead of ‘ideological frontiers’.
