PML-Q unveils ‘Building a Better Tomorrow’ project

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has, in its election manifesto, set out seven national priorities and pledged to combat extremism and eliminate terrorism.
The party has also promised to ensure education for all, better manage energy, provide employment for youth, empower women, revive economy to reduce poverty and curb inflation and eliminate corruption. PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain announced the manifesto with the slogan “Building a Better Tomorrow” in a press conference at the Muslim League House here on Sunday.
The party’s secretary general, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, and Manifesto Committee Chairman Senator SM Zafar were also present on the occasion. In his inaugural address Shujaat pinpointed three basic principles which are based on telling the truth and “Kalma-e-Haq”, saying we will always side with the oppressed and oppose “zulm” as was the case in the Iraq War, Balochistan and Lal Masjid.
He said Chaudhry Parvez Elahi as Punjab chief minister introduced and launched new projects and unique policies and initiatives. Declaring Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Fatima Jinnah as his party’s role models, the PML-Q head said they would carry forward their mission. Shujaat, Mushahid and Zafar highlighted salient features of the manifesto, according to which the PML-Q would strengthen democratic values through a human rights agenda, promote an enterprise culture, take all steps to increase agricultural produce, achieve food self-sufficiency and promote high value products for export.
