Caretaker Interior Minister offers clarification of Nawaz statement
ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso summoned caretaker Interior Minister Malik Habib and sought a clarification on a statement regarding PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.
According to PM House sources, Habib presented his clarification to the caretaker prime minister and said that he had made the statement in good intention and that it was distorted by the media.
Habib assured Prime Minister Khoso that he was neutral and had no affiliation with any political party. Caretaker Prime Minister Khoso clearly stated that the mandate of the interim government was to conduct free and transparent elections and it is essential that the caretaker cabinet remains neutral.
Sources added that the caretaker prime minister will make a decision to accept or reject the clarification of Habib at a later time and he has prohibited cabinet members from making political statements to the media.
