Rangers deny report of party-specific operations

KARACHI: The spokesman of Sindh Home Department on Monday clarified that the operation conducted by Rangers in Karachi was not directed to any particular political party or ethnic group.
The official handout released by the Home Department stated that actions of law enforcement agencies were aimed at maintaining law and order situation, especially in pursuance of the Supreme Court’s order to bring peace and ensure that General Elections 2013 were not impeded by law and order situation.
The clarification has been issued in response to apprehensions expressed by the MQM Coordination Committee regarding Rangers action in the city.
