Pakistan army quake-relief operation continues in full swing
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan army rescue and relief operation in the quake-affected areas in Balochistan continued on Wednesday, as the relief goods airlifted are now being distributed among the affected people in the devastated areas over there, Geo News reported.
ISPR in handout issued here said that five helicopters, over 300 Pak army and FC soldiers including doctors, paramedical staff and engineers are engaged in the transportation and distribution of relief goods among the affectees.
Army helicopters have so far shifted sixteen hundred severely wounded persons from Tehsil Mashkel area of Balochistan to Quetta, while a medical center has also been setup for Mashkel quake-hit people, said the ISPR handout.
The soldiers engaged in relief work have thus far distributed 1800 kilogram of food items, 1000 kilogram of medicines and two hundred blankets, the handout further said
A careful survey reveals that population of the area is approximately 10-15 thousand and mostly the houses are built of mud.
