Musharraf submits plea to set up full bench in treason case
ISLAMABAD: The former military president Pervez Musharraf has submitted a plea in the Supreme Court for the constitution of a full bench to hear the treason case against him.
The petition, which has been submitted by Musharraf’s counsels, requested the court to constitute a full bench to hear the case. The petition further said that the case involved a number of constitutional and legal complications for which a full bench of the apex court was significant. The petition has also requested the court to review the verdict of July 31, 2009, adding that only a bench of 14 judges found Musharraf guilty of treason in the judgement. online
