US in favor of free, fair elections in Pakistan: Olson
ISLAMABAD: United States ambassador, Richard Olson has reiterated that the US supports free, fair and transparent elections in Pakistan, Geo News reported.
In a video statement issued from US embassy Islamabad here on Tuesday, Olson said his country awaits free, fair, transparent and timely elections in Pakistan on May 11.
The ambassador said US has no association with any individual or political party. Pakistani people have right to elect their own leadership, he added.
Olson expressed hope that the elections will be held peacefully and prove to be major transition of democratic power in the country. He said US supports strengthening of civil and democratic institutions through election process.
US ambassador prayed for prosperity of Pakistan as per the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
