No one can frighten us, says Altaf
NAWAB SHAH: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said that his party cannot be frightened by violence and attacks.
Addressing a public gathering in Nawabshah on the phone on Saturday, he said that the MQM would form the government in Sindh after the election.
Altaf strongly condemned the targeting of innocent people in terror attacks across the country. “It is a conspiracy of destructive forces that have nothing to do with the challenges and problems faced by the people; rather their mission is to derail the caravan of democracy for the interests of foreign forces.”
He said the MQM would not accept the Sharia law if enforced against the will of the people. While highlighting women’s rights, the MQM chief said that women enjoyed equal rights as men. “They should be treated equally in every walk of life without any discrimination.” Earlier, the MQM Coordination Committee in Karachi categorically stated that the party would not boycott elections despite conspiracies.
In a telephonic conversation with Altaf Hussain, Rabita Committee members said that despite attacks on workers and leaders, the morale of MQM workers was high and they would not surrender before terrorists.
Paying tribute to members of the committee, Altaf said that he was pleased to see the courage of his party workers. online
