Character assassination not PML-N’s way: Nawaz

OKARA Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Monday said that his party strongly believed in respecting each other, and had never resorted to character assassination like others. Addressing a public rally in Okara, he said nobody could stop the PML-N from marching forward. “We will make Pakistan a citadel of peace and prosperity, if voted to power.” He said the motorway system, Chashma Power Plant and distribution of land among the landless farmers were some of the major achievements of the PML-N government. Nawaz said his party would give loans to skilled and educated youth on soft terms. He said that maximum job opportunities would be created for the youth after winning the election. He pledged that the problem of load shedding would be resolved forever, after his party came into power. The PML-N leader said that the youth was an asset of country and for the PML-N. He said that best communication infrastructure would be built in the country. He said it was a pity that Pakistan had no respect in the world despite being an atomic power. Nawaz said that in 1991, Pakistan was progressing fast under his government, but a military dictator overthrew the elected government and reversed the wheel of progress. “We will rebuild Pakistan with the help of youth and Pakistan will again be on the road to progress,” he added. “Had our government been allowed to continue, Pakistan would have been a different country by now.” Nawaz said he was appealing for votes because he wanted to bring Pakistan out of the crises it faced. Earlier, he addressed a meeting of ticket holders from Lahore district. The meeting held consultations and exchanged views on the election strategy of the party. Nawaz said if returned to power, the PML-N would make an “enlightened Pakistan”. staff report
