NAB returns Rs 435 millionof embezzled amount to BoP
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has returned Rs 435 million to the Bank of Punjab (BoP) which were recovered in different corruption cases of BoP investigated and prosecuted successfully by the federal watchdog.
NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry presided over the meeting at the NAB Headquarters on Thursday to discuss the status of the pending cases pertaining to BoP.
A BoP delegation was also present, headed by its President Naeemuddin. The meeting was informed that 30 cases of BoP were with the NAB at different stages of investigation and prosecution. The NAB chairman directed senior officers of the bureau to expedite the execution of these cases so as to achieve finality at the earliest. He also asked the BoP to cooperate and coordinate with the NAB investigation team to achieve the task in the quickest manner.
