Corps Commanders meeting reviews internal, external security

RAWALPINDI: The Corps Commanders meeting, chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif (COAS), was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) here on Wednesday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the forum undertook a comprehensive review of the prevailing external and internal security situation specially along the Western border.

The issue of draw-down of ISAF from Afghanistan with its concomitant implications on the security situation along the bordering region was also discussed, the ISPR press release said.

COAS Sharif appreciated troops for additional security measures along Pak-Afghan Border to assist the Afghan's in conduct of smooth Presidential Elections.

The forum also comprehensively reviewed Pakistan Army's large scale involvement on security, development and rehabilitation works in various parts of the country.

COAS commended the efforts despite serious security and administrative challenges.
