Balochistan lawmakers demand small dams
MPAs demand motorway’s extension to Quetta via Dera Ghazi Khan and Loralai


QUETTA – The Balochistan Assembly adopted three resolutions about continuity of financial assistance to students of Balochistan under the Prime Minister’s Scholarship programme, setting up of small dams in the province and extension of motorway to Quetta during its session on Saturday.

The first resolution was tabled by Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) lawmakers. The house adopted the resolution demanding the federal government to continue financial support under the scholarship programme for students of Balochistan who are studying in various educational institutions of other provinces.

The second resolution, tabled by two lawmakers of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F, was about establishing small water reservoirs in various areas of the province to fulfill agricultural requirements and problem of water shortage. The third resolution that was adopted by the provincial assembly was also tabled by JUI-F lawmakers about extension of motorway to Quetta via Dera Ghazi Khan and Loralai.

However, the House rejected a resolution with majority about allotting the status of tehsils to Kachla, Aghberg, Saryab and Sira Ghargai.
