PM Nawaz must play a constructive role: Altaf

LONDON: MQM chief Altaf Hussain has made a solemn and earnest appeal to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to play a “constructive role” to steer Pakistan out of crises.
Altaf added that he has made this appeal because Pakistan’s security and survival is at stake. “Mian Nawaz Shareef holds an important post. Pakistan is facing internal and external challenges. The situation demands that he should not waste time and take into confidence the lawmakers in the National Assembly and Senate to build a consensus to tackle internal challenges faced by the nation.”
The MQM chief said the prime minister can also convene an all-parties conference for this purpose. “Mian Nawaz Shareef is the prime minister of Pakistan. The person who holds this post must be responsible and generous. In this crisis the prime minister should not desert the nation. He must come forward and lead the nation. We have got this democracy after rendering enormous sacrifices,” Altaf said in a statement released from London.
“Our country is economically weak and needs foreign aid for its survival. We need national solidarity, unity and harmony among people and good relations between the institutions,” he said, adding that “the prime minister and his colleagues should pay attention to my recommendations”.
