Army observing Youm-e-Shuhada today

RAWALPINDI Pakistan Army is observing Youm-e-Shuhada (Day of Martyrs) Wednesday in recognition to those valiant soldiers who laid their lives for the defence of the motherland.

Ceremonies are being held at Garrisons across the country.

An impressive ceremony will be held at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, General Headquarters Rawalpindi. It will be attended by families of Shuhada, serving and retired officers of the armed forces and a large number of people from all walks of life.

President Mamnoon Hussain, lauding the sacrifices of the armed forces for the defence of their country, said they have made Pakistan strong and inspired future generations to render any sacrifice for their motherland.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the entire nation is standing behind their valiant armed forces to fulfill the sacred mission of defence of Pakistan.
