Court seeks report from IG Islamabad over Musharraf’s departure
ISLAMABAD: Expressing anger over departure of former president Gen. (retd) Pervaiz Musharraf to Dubai despite his non-bailable arrest warrants, Additional Sessions Judge Islamabad has sought report from Inspector General (IG) Islamabad.
Additional Sessions Judge Pervaiz Qadir Memon was hearing cleric Abdul Rasheed murder case here Saturday. Section Officer Waqas Maqsood appeared on behalf of Home Secretary while Advocate Azhar Shah represented IG Islamabad.
The court expressed anger for allowing the former president to go aboard despite his non-bailable arrest warrants and also summoned Station House Officer (SHO) Aabpara to record his statement.
The court remarked that the proceedings would move forward as per the law.
