Govt to take parliamentary leaders into confidence over Panama commission
ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to take parliamentary leaders of all the political parties into confidence over formation of inquiry commission on Panama leaks allegations against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family of having offshore companies.
The decision was make in a consultative meeting held at PM House by key federal ministers and party leaders.
The participants of the meeting vowed that all the measures to bring political instability would be thwarted.
Sources said, federal minister for finance Ishaq Dar chaired the meeting.
The government has shortlisted the name of former Supreme Court judge Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany to head the commission, however, Pakistan People’s Party has rejected it and demanded a parliamentary commission headed by Chairman Senate, Senator Raza Rabbani.
On the other hands, PTI Chief Imran Khan has been demanding an serving Chief Justice led inquiry commission.
