PM invites Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan

Nawaz assures companies of all possible assistance to investment plans

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday invited the Chinese companies to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Talking to Shandong Hi-Speed Group Ltd Chairman Sun Liang here at the PM House, the prime minister invited Shandong Group to invest in various projects particularly road, rail, power, dams, pipelines, airports and the financial sector of Pakistan. The prime minister assured the company of all possible assistance to the investment plans.

He said the government’s economic team had worked assiduously during the last three years to achieve the economic turn-around, which he said was being well-acknowledged by all the international institutions. The GDP growth rate of our economy is rising and inflation had been brought down to single digit, he said.

The prime minister mentioned that the stock exchange had shown considerable increase and the foreign currency reserves were highest in history. He termed CPEC a symbol of Pakistan and China's all-weather friendship.

He mentioned that CPEC was not only a road and rail network project, but also includes investment in trade, energy, transport, infrastructure and industrial estates. Sun appreciated the economic policies of the government and attributed Pakistan's economic turnaround to the sound vision of the prime minister and strict financial discipline of the government. He expressed keen interest to explore new opportunities to invest in Pakistan.
