Pervaiz urges on transparent accountability for all

Minister says govt ready to talk with all political parties including PTI

ISLAMABAD – Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid said that the transparent accountability should be carried out against everyone without any discrimination.

In an interview with private TV channel, the minister emphasised to establish an institution with understanding of all political parties which can conduct accountability of all without any discrimination and in transparent manner.

He said that the process of accountability should be made effective and strong which could enhance prestige of Pakistan. He said before making the Terms of Reference (ToRs) of the judicial commission on Panama Papers, the government had consulted all political parties.

Pervaiz said that the government was ready to talk and hold dialogues with all political parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He said that opposition’s suggestions would be heard for the improvement of the system as the government was ready to hear them positively.

To a question, the minister said that doors were always open in democratic system to resolve the matter in peaceful manner. He said resolving the power and gas issues were top priority of the government. He urged the opposition to work with the government for the welfare and development of Pakistan despite doing the politics of protest demonstrations.

Pervaiz said that opposition should resolve all the matters through the parliament. To another question, he said that he respected the opinion of Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani regarding accountability. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government has taken practical steps for the progress and prosperity of the country.
