Turkey vows to help Pakistan in energy sector
LAHORE: Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul announced that his country will extend assistance to Pakistan to help it in coping with the power crisis, Geo News reported Thursday.
Addressing the Investment Forum here, he said his country will help Pakistan in sectors including energy, textile, housing, mining and agriculture.
He announced to initiate three direct flights between Islamabad and Istanbul and the issues involving cargo train would be resolved on priority basis.
Abdullah said Turk traders and energy experts will assist Pakistan in Solid Waste sector, adding the Turkey’s embassy has been directed to materialize assistance to Pakistan in energy, textile, housing, mining and agriculture sectors.
On this occasion, two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the two countries were also signed.
Addressing on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif said Turk industrialists would be provided 225 acres of land in Faisalabad Industrial Zone.
Sharif said the situation regarding the terrorism in Pakistan would soon be brought under control.
