President to inaugurate first 51 megawatt RPP tomorrow
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari will inaugurate the first gas-fired rental power plant (RPP) with a production capacity of 51MW tomorrow (Sunday) at Naudero, Larkana district. The plant is technically designed to operate on gas turbine generating units with 92 percent power availability factor. The plant has been assured 12 mmcfd gas for five years through Pakistan Electric Power Company’s (PEPCO) Generation Company – II, and a Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) gas transmission pipeline has been linked to the RPP, besides laying of a 132 KV transmission line to connect the power generated to the national grid. Walter Power International’s RPP Naudero-1 has been completed at a cost of $91.65 million. staff report
