MQM to hold convention at Minar-e-Pakistan on 25th

 

LAHORE: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will hold a workers convention at the Minar-e-Pakistan on April 25, Raza Haroon, MQM Rabta Committee member and Sindh IT minister said on Friday.

He was addressing a press conference along with Rabta Committee members Iftikhar Randhawa, Hussain Yar Khan and Dr Ali Hussain at the Lahore Press Club (LPC). Haroon said the convention would reach out to the economically and socially oppressed people of Punjab and would be addressed by MQM chief Altaf Hussain by telephone from London. Haroon said the district administration has allowed holding of the convention and the administration’s attitude towards the MQM was not hostile. He said the workers convention on April 25 is part of the party campaign to reach out to people from all over Pakistan. The Sindh IT minister said the MQM has proved to be a national party after winning seats in legislative assemblies of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. staff report
