No room for dictatorship, says Zardari

* President tells CEC meeting ‘conspiracies being hatched against PPP government’
* Policy of reconciliation will continue
* Gilani says govt considering reopening Zulfikar Bhutto case

GARHI KHUDA BUKHSH/LAHORE: The masses will rule Pakistan and there is no more room for dictatorships, President Asif Ali Zardari said on Saturday.

According to a private TV channel, while addressing Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Committee members at Bilawal House in Naudero, the president said that conspiracies were being hatched against the current PPP government.

While Zardari said ZAB had fallen victim to a judicial murder, the PPP would continue with the policy of reconciliation in the country. He said the PPP and the government led by it at the centre would continue the consultation process in supreme national interest. The central executive committee meeting paid tribute to the founder of the ruling party. Also, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said the government was considering reopening the murder case of former premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Talking to journalists at the mausoleums of the Bhutto family, the PM said, “ I am examining the case and am in favour of its reopening. I have written in my book that Zulfikar’s death was a judicial murder.”

Made public: Questioned about the delay in the UN report on Benazir’s assassination, he said the former premier was a leader of international stature and a symbol of the federation and that was why the UN was asked to probe her murder, adding that the commission report would be shared with the whole world. About reports of an invitation to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to join the federal cabinet, the PM said he did not make any such offer.

About load shedding, the PM said a high-level committee, consisting of the power minister, petroleum minister and finance advisor had been constituted to examine and prepare a comprehensive report on electricity load management within a week. app/daily times monitor
