Balochistan Levies Force Bill approved
Staff Report
QUETTA: Members of the Balochistan Assembly on Monday unanimously approved the Balochistan Levies Force Bill 2010.
Fauzia Marri, the adviser to the Balochistan chief minister, tabled the bill during the BA session on behalf of the home minister.
The bill was moved in the light of the provincial cabinet’s March 5 decision, and the levies force now stands restored in the province. Initially, the Balochistan Levies Force has started functioning in six districts, while the Federal Levies Force is already functioning in 16 districts.
Meanwhile, Marri and PPP MPAs Uzma Alizai and Samina Raziq tabled a resolution for working towards the welfare of senior citizens.
Ministers Haji Toor, Zamarak Khan, Jan Changezi and Rahila Durrani moved another resolution, seeking steps for improving the agriculture and livestock sectors in Balochistan.
Meanwhile, ministers Abdus Akhunzada and Muhammad Musakhail tabled a third resolution, demanding the federal government remove all hindrances that were preventing a Baloch official from pursuing a PhD at an Australian university under the ‘Educational Assistance’ programme.
The House unanimously passed all three resolutions.
