Malik seeks DNA report of girl dropped at Dr Aafia’s home

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik, on Monday, sought a DNA and forensic test of an unidentified girl dropped outside the home of Dr Aafia’s mother. The minister asked the police to verify the girl’s identify through NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority). The unidentified girl was dropped outside the home of Dr Aafia’s mother with the card bearing the address tied around her neck on Sunday. The mother of Dr Aafia, Asmat Siddiqui, informed the interior minister about the girl. Malik took immediate notice of the issue and directed the police to perform a DNA test on the girl, so that her relation with Dr Aafia could be ascertained. Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani also directed the interior minister to verify the identity of the girl. app
