Ex AG terms judges appointment clause as incorrect
RAWALPINDI: Former attorney general Anwar Mansoor Khan has called the procedure of appointment of judges in 18th constitutional amendment as incorrect.
Addressing Rawalpindi High Court Bar, Anwar Mansoor expressed reservations over the judges appointment clause in 18th amend said it is unacceptable that the legislature upsets the judgments of the Supreme Court.
He said the lawyers are the soldiers of judiciary without them the free judiciary will not remain free.
He said with this amendment judges will not be appointed on merit.
He also urged for internal elections in political parties to ensure strengthening the democratic system saying that 18th amend does not have a clear clause with regard to it.
