Musharraf pushed Pakistan into darkness: Nawaz
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif on Sunday said that former president Pervez Musharraf had pushed the country into darkness besides destroying state organs during his 8-year military rule.
Speaking to a delegation of Karachi-based businessmen, he said the present government, despite being in power for more than two years, has also failed to initiate any mentionable project to overcome the lingering power crisis.
Punjab’s Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly were also present on this occasion.
The two-time former prime minister said that PML-N was fully aware of the problems being faced by the business community.
“The ongoing power crisis is leaving a negative impact on every section of the society,” he said.
“Had the government set its direction the very start, the people would not have taken to the streets against issues like price hike and load-shedding,” he added.
