Over 1100 Indian Sikh pilgrims arrive in Pakistan
LAHORE: More than 1100 Sikh yatrees have arrived in Lahore to take part in their annual Besakhi mela.
Aukaf chairman Asif Hashmi has greeted the pilgrims at the Wagah Station.
The first train carrying Sikh pilgrims from India reached Wagah Border, from where they were escorted to Lahore.
They will visit their sacred places situated in Nankhana Sahib, Sacha Soda, Aimanabad and Hasanabdal during the 10-day long stay.
The Besakhi celebrations will kickstart on April 12 and will conclude on April 14 at Hasan Abdal.
According to sources, the Sikh yatrees may also meet with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. They will return for India on April 21.
