US confident of Pak ability to protect nukes

 

WASHINGTON: On the eve of a major nuclear security summit, the US on Friday expressed confidence in Pakistan’s ability to protect its atomic programme, highlighting Islamabad’s cooperation in shutting down the AQ Khan network coupled with the safeguards put in place for its strategic assets. “Washington wanted to see Pakistan invested in the process of strengthening non-proliferation,” Assistant Secretary of State PJ Crowley said at the daily briefing. app
