Jaswant firm on his remarks about Jinnah

KARACHI: former Indian foreign minister Jaswant Singh said Monday he was stuck to his stand he had taken in his book about Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

“Whatever I have written about Jinnah in my book, I fully stand by it,” he told newsmen at Karachi airport on his arrival from New Delhi.

The author of “Jinnah: India, Partition and Independence” said: “I have come to Pakistan on a literary tour and will meet different scholars and readers to apprise them about my book.”

It may be reminded here that Jaswant Singh was expelled by his party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in protest against his appreciation of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The expelled BJP leader also hailed ‘Aman Ki Asha’ campaign launched by Jang Group of Pakistan and Times of India.

He hoped that the AKA initiative would yield durable results.
