Pakistan fully committed to ensuring nuclear security: PM
* Gilani vows to rid Pakistan of evil forces
WASHINGTON: The democratic government in Pakistan is fully committed to ensuring nuclear security, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said on Tuesday.
At a dinner hosted by US President Barack Obama, Gilani said Pakistan attached the highest importance to the security of its nuclear material and had put in place multi-layered mechanisms and processes.
He said Pakistan had already worked with India on several nuclear confidence-building measures. “More than ever before, our two nations need to hold a sustained dialogue to address all issues,” he said.
Evil forces: Earlier, Gilani vowed to rid the country of “evil forces”, adding that Osama Bin Laden was not in Pakistan and he had no information whether he was alive or not.
Gilani also met Chinese President Hu Jintao and discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest. agencies
