PPP deserves credit for restoration of 1973 Constitution: Rabbani

KARACHI: Chairman of the Constitutional Reforms Committee (CRC) and PPP leader Senator Raza Rabbani said Sunday his party should be given its due credit in restoring the 1973 Constitution unanimously in consultation with all political parties.

Addressing the activists at the Karachi airport, he said that name of then military dictator Zia ul Haq had been thrown out of the constitution.

He said that laborers would now get their rights by the restoration of constitution.

The 1973 Constitution formulated by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was completely restored, he said.

“If former president has the guts, he should return to the country and face the situation,” he remarked.

Federal Minister for Manpower Khurshid Shah and Federal Minister for Petroleum Naveed Qamar were also present on this occasion.
