President turns Rehman dismissal into retirement
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari Tuesday approved a summary, turning the dismissal of Rehman Malik as the then ADG FIA into retirement.
Rehman Malik was dismissed as the Additional Director General of FIA in 1996.
Malik had filed an appeal against his dismissal, on which law ministry forwarded a summary to the Prime Minister, who then sent it to the President for final approval.
The President singed the summary, after which a notification in this regard was issued.
He will now be able to get all his benefits as a retired FIA official.
