Shoaib, Sania reach Pakistan
LAHORE: Cricketer Shoaib Malik and his wife, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, landed at the Quaid-e-Azam International Airport in Karachi on Thursday amid a sea of fans and the media.
A private TV channel reported that hundreds of fans had gathered outside the airport, carrying placards welcoming “Pakistan’s daughter-in-law”. Sania is now expected to apply for a visa to Sialkot, where a reception has been planned for April 25. Another reception would be held in Lahore two days later, while Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani is also expected to hold a reception in the couple’s honour later this month.
While on board a flight bound from Karachi to Islamabad, Shoaib told a private TV channel that he had been overwhelmed by the reception. Sania said, “It feels great to have arrived here in Pakistan.” daily times monitor
