Shoaib demands Rs 35 million for valima coverage
LAHORE: Former Pakistani skipper Shoaib Malik has demanded Rs 35 million in return for the coverage rights for his valima ceremony to be held today (Sunday) in Sialkot. According to a private TV channel, Shoaib has held talks with two media groups for giving coverage rights of his valima reception, however an agreement has so far not been reached. Shoaib’s brother-in-law Imran Zafar earlier said that the media would not be allowed to cover the valima. The channel said that Sania was not talking to the local media because she was bound by a contract with an Indian TV channel. Separately, as many as 12 family members of Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, including her father Imran Mirza and sister Anum Mirza, arrived in Lahore to attend her and Shoaib Malik’s valima reception. “We are extremely excited to be here in Lahore and I hope the marriage is successful,” Imran Mirza told journalists upon his arrival at the Allama Iqbal International Airport. daily times monitor
