Ask British govt about Musharraf’s protocol: Rehman to media
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday exempted Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik from appearing in person before the court on April 30.
The federal minister had submitted an application in the LHC, saying he would not be able to personally appear before the court on April 30 because of his absence from the country due to a foreign visit.
The court accepted his application and exempted him from the personal appearance.
Malik said the UN report on Benazir Bhutto’s assassination doesn’t tell who was the real culprit.
Later, talking to media persons, the interior minister denied that the government had received any demand from any country for extradition of five US nationals, who were arrested from Sargodha for their alleged links with militants.
About withdrawal of Musharraf’s security protocol, he said only British government could answer this question.
In the light of UN report on Benazir Bhutto’s slaying, the FIA and Prime Minister’s constituted three-member committee was probing the issue, he said.
To a question, Malik said that Swat and parts of FATA were cleansed of militants.
He said that the government would go after the mercenaries and foreign agents everywhere in the country.
