Energy conservation plan to save 603MW: PEPCO
LAHORE: Power outage across the country will decrease in the coming days as the prime minister’s energy conservation plan will help PEPCO save 603 megawatts of electricity, PEPCO Director General Muhammad Khalid said on Monday. He praised the people, especially traders, for cooperating with the government to tackle the energy crisis. Talking to Daily Times, Khalid said the power shortfall was recorded at 3,921MW on Monday, reduced from 4,890MW a few days ago.He said the electricity demand was 14,661MW, while the production remained 10,740MW. He said hydel production was contributing 2,913MW currently, thermal generation 2,573MW, while independent power producers were generating 5,254MW. staff report
