Pakistan, India agree to resume composite dialogue
THIMPHU: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said trust deficit exists between Pakistan and India; however, both the countries have vowed to initiate composite talks stalled after Mumbai Attacks, Geo News reported Thursday.Briefing the media about the meeting between Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh, he said the meeting between the prime ministers of Pakistan and India turned out positive and concluded on a very positive note, adding no one expected such a positive meeting.
Foreign Ministers of the two countries have been assigned task to bring the ties between the two countries to normalcy, Mehmood Qureshi said adding the FMs will have to bridge this gap of deficit.
He informed that Home ministers of Saarc countries would arrive in Pakistan on 26th June.
Commenting on Mumbai Attacks, he said the perpetrators of the incident would be brought to justice, adding the terrorism is spoiling the ties between the two countries.
Commenting on cross border infiltration into Balochistan, the FM Qureshi said Indian premier vowed that India has no intention to destabilize Pakistan.
The water issue was also brought under discussion between the two leaders, he told the media.
